Executive education fees comprise the following

  • Application fee R160
  • Tuition fees; split into a minimum of 50% deposit at registration and balance due by 15 May 2018.

Application and tuition fees need to be settled at the following intervals

Application fee of R160 on registration

12 Month programmes

50% of total tuition fees on registration and the outstanding 50% of the balance of the total tuition by 15 May.

6 month programmes and short courses

50% of total tuition at registration and the balance by 15 May, if the participant registers in the 1st semester.  If the participant registers in the 2nd semester, 50% of the total fee must be paid at registration and the balance by 15 August.

3 month programmes and short courses

100% of total tuition at registration.


Please Note

The programme or short course registration will only be processed if the registration fee is settled in terms of the above or a valid purchase order is provided. The bursar or sponsorship letter is not sufficient for registration and should be accompanied by a purchase order. Failure to pay the tuition fees as outlined above will result in online access to learning materials and results being suspended.

Study material

Students should source their prescribed books from Unisa approved book sellers.

Withdrawal from programme or short course

Subject to Section 12(2) of the Consumer Protection Act, a cancellation fee is payable as follows:

Registered participants who wish to withdraw from any SBL executive education programme or short course for any reason must do so in writing to the Programme Administrator and the Fees Office: failure to do so will result in the student being liable for the full tuition fees of the programme or short course.

Notes

1 year programmes

    • Withdrawal before the programme or short course commencement date will be refunded in full.
    • Withdrawal after the programme or short course commencement date, but before 15 May will result in a liability equal to 50% of tuition fees.
    • Withdrawal after the programme or short course commencement date, but after 15 May will result in a liability equal to 100% of tuition fees.

6 months programme

    • Withdrawal before the programme or short course commencement date will be refunded in full.
    • Withdrawal after the programme or short course commencement date, but before 15 May will result in a liability equal to 50% of tuition fees.
    • Withdrawal after the programme or short course commencement date, but after 15 May will result in a liability equal to 100% of tuition fees.

3 months programme

    • Withdrawal before the programme or short course commencement date will be refunded in full.
    • Withdrawal after the programme or short course commencement date, will result in a liability equal to 100% of tuition fees.

Financial blocks and cancellations

Unsettled accounts of participants are subject to financial blocks or/and cancellations. Accounts that are cancelled or blocked will not have access to the EDS platform and academic results on the MyUnisa platform.

Failure to settle fees in full

Should a participant fail to settle all outstanding amounts, he or she risks the following financial penalties:

  1. Unable to access his/her statement of results
  2. Not be allowed to form part of the certification ceremony
  3. Runs a risk of being handed over to a third party for collection of outstanding amounts
  4. Once the outstanding account is handed over for collection, the participant will be liable for legal costs of recovery.

No cash or cheques will be accepted at the Unisa SBL offices. Cash or cheques can, however, still be paid into the bank account of the University at any Standard bank branch in South Africa.

Employer sponsorship

To facilitate preparation of sponsorship (bursar) letter and tax invoices.  Companies or organisations sponsoring participants must send bursar/sponsorship letters in order to be furnished with a tax invoices. The bursar/sponsorship letter must include the following information:

  1. A letter of sponsorship wherein the sponsor unequivocally assumes financial liability for the total or stated amount of the cost of tuition as well as application fees. On the basis of a sponsorship letter, UNISA SBL will hold the sponsor legally responsible for the amount in the letter even if a participant terminates his/her relationship with the sponsor. UNISA/SBL reserves the right to require a Memorandum of Agreement to obtain the condition above.
  2. Full trading name of organisation.
  3. Postal address of organisation.
  4. VAT Number (if exempt, please indicate)
  5. Full name and official title of account representative
  6. Cost or amount for which the organization is responsible.
  7. Full name of each participant and student number (the national ID number if student number has not been issued)
  8. Fax number or email address where a copy of invoice may be sent.
  9. Bursar/Sponsorship letter should be on the companies official letter head
